Long Island Sound Summit:

Collaborating to Advance Clean Water Solutions

Hosted by the Long Island Sound Coastal Watershed Network

March 27, 2025 | 11:00 AM - 2:45 PM

Housatonic Community College

Bridgeport, CT

We who live, work, and play in and around the Long Island Sound have a collective responsibility to protect it.

This year’s Summit will be an opportunity to explore the power of collaboration in advancing clean water solutions. Informed by each other’s perspectives and experiences and guided by resources like the updated Long Island Sound Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP), we will focus on building strong partnerships, sharing knowledge, and exploring communication approaches. Together we will find new ways to advance pollution reduction projects that improve water quality for a cleaner, healthier Sound for all.

Join us at the 2025 LIS Summit to:

  • Connect with Network members and clean water professionals across the Sound.

  • Learn about tools and resources for clean water project design and implementation and tips for communicating about your work.

  • Share personal experiences and lessons learned.

  • Discover new collaboration opportunities to advance key projects.

About the Summit

The Long Island Sound Coastal Watershed Network hosted its inaugural LIS Summit in March 2023, seizing the opportunity to advance local actions that restore and protect cleaner, healthier water made possible by historic public funding from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

The 2025 LIS Summit will focus on building and maintaining collaborations as we dive into new approaches and opportunities to target and reduce consumer plastics and debris, fecal bacteria, and nitrogen entering the Sound through stormwater, sewage, and groundwater.

The 2025 LIS Summit will be held in-person at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, CT. We hope you can attend!

Plenary Panel

The Summit will include a plenary panel featuring presentations from NY and CT speakers. It will conclude with a panel Q&A session moderated by Peter Linderoth, Director of Healthy Lands and Waters at Save the Sound.

Listen to the latest science, learn how policy is one of the best tools in our conservation toolkit, and connect with others to advance collaborative water conservation in Long Island Sound.

Roundtable Workshop Discussions

Join the Summit and participate in lively conversations about clean water projects, resources, and topics during the Roundtable Workshop Discussions!

Each Roundtable Workshop Discussion will focus on a specific topic for 35-minutes. A roundtable moderator will present information and kick off targeted group discussion. Participants can choose roundtable topics and sessions they would like to join.
